A Benton Harbor man is dead after a shooting at an apartment complex early Friday morning.

Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety officers were called to the Hayward Wells apartment complex at about 12:30 a.m. Friday.

37-year-old Tavaris Brummette was severely wounded by gunfire when officers arrived. He was taken to Lakeland Hospital, where he later died.

There are no suspects yet, but officers say they have questioned numerous people and are following several leads.
