One person is dead and another is recovering from injuries after the motorcycle they were on struck a deer.

It happened on M-86 in Colon on Saturday night. Both the driver and his passenger were rushed to Borgess Hospital for treatment, according to ABC 57.

The driver, identified as Larry Duwayne Smith, died a few hours later.

The crash is still under investigation.
