South Haven beach closed due to heavy partying by college students

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (AP) — Police closed a South Haven beach for a few hours after complaints about hundreds of college students partying.

South Haven police say complaints began around midday Wednesday when three busloads of college students showed up at South Beach along Lake Michigan. Chief Natalie Thompson says they brought alcohol and loud music, and there were some fights reported.

Thompson says four arrests were made out of 300-400 people at the beach. She didn’t say what school they were from but was in touch with school officials.

Last summer, South Haven’s North Beach was shut down during the Fourth of July weekend because of rowdy people and fights. The crowd for the “Light up the Lake” fireworks got violent and pelted police and spectators who gathered at the beach with bottles.

What the hell is wrong with these kids? (Legal adults) Do they not know of the unspoken rule of warm weather and sunshine? No Fun Allowed! My god! 1% of this group had to be arrested. That is an insane amount of people that were misbehaving in an illegal fashion! You all need to go sit in front of a TV and become mindless like the idiots that run our governments at every level. The sun can kill you know and smiling will rot your teeth!
