The cousin of a South Bend man accused of robbing an Elkhart man trying to sell video games through an online website has been arrested months after the crime.
21-year-old Eric Johnson Jr. is charged with armed robbery and criminal confinement resulting in serious injury. Both charges are Level 3 felonies, which carry a maximum 16-year term in prison. He was arrested Wednesday, according to the Elkhart Truth.
Johnson is accused of robbing an Elkhart man at gunpoint with his cousin, 22-year-old Charlie Easton. The two went to the victim’s apartment in January after responding to a Letgo.com posting advertising two Sony Playstation game systems and several games for sale. While one man held a gun to the victim’s head, the other stole about $800 cash and video games, according to court documents.
Easton was arrested in April, about a month after Elkhart Police met with him in a hospital, where he was recovering from a gunshot wound from another alleged home invasion robbery.
