South Bend police have made two arrests in a fatal shooting that took place Saturday afternoon.

George Lee Watson and Qualan Jones, both 17, have been booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.

Officers say Felipe Gutierrez of Ligonier was found at about 2 p.m. Saturday shot to death in the driver’s seat of a black BMW in the parking lot near the Charles Black Recreation Center, according to ABC 57.

The shooting took place next to Lasalle Park, where a children’s soccer game was taking place. Witnesses at the scene say two black men got out of the back of the car and ran off. Officers believe Gutierrez knew the suspects, according to WSBT.

Another suspect is still at large.

Obvious racisim! May 25, 2017 at 3:33 pm

Please post stories about white people that shot other people. You’re always posting stories about black people that shoot people and I think that is racist! Can we get some other colors in our stories?
