(Carli Luca/95.3 MNC)

A man attempted to rob the Lake City Bank on Center Street in downtown Warsaw Friday morning.

Warsaw Police tell News Now Warsaw that the man entered the main branch around 9 a.m. and demanded money. He then paced the lobby before exiting the bank.

The man was not armed, police confirm.

A Warsaw Police Officer in an unmarked car was at the drive-up and ATM area when the suspect walked in front of him. The suspect was taken into custody less than half a block away.

Warsaw Police say 27-year-old Raymond Halsey is facing initial charges of Attempted Robbery, Failure to Identify, and Disorderly Conduct.

Halsey was released from Kosciusko County Jail just an hour before the attempted robbery. He had been booked for failure to appear on Wednesday.
