A Hammond woman died after crashing on the Indiana Toll Road late Wednesday night. The crash happened at about 11 p.m. about three miles east of LaPorte on the eastbound lanes.

Indiana State Police say 66-year-old Jeanine Wallace tried to pass a semi in the left lane, but ended up losing losing control of her vehicle and was hit by the semi. Her SUV then hit a guardrail and went airborne before hitting a bridge abutment and coming to a final rest in the right shoulder.
