Missing teen found, along with 24 pounds of marijuana, in Indiana Toll Road traffic stop

A routine traffic stop on the Indiana Toll Road turned out to be anything but for Indiana State Police.

A state trooper pulled over a black Buick just west of the Valparaiso and Chesterton exit at about 9:30 a.m. on June 26.

An officer determined the female juvenile driving the vehicle was actually a runaway from Bakersfield, CA. She had left without her parents permission and the officer was suspicious of not just her story, but the fact that she was in the same car as three adult men.

As the investigation continued, a K9 officer helped officers find nearly 24 pounds of marijuana.

Three were arrested on Level 5 Felony Dealing Marijuana charges. They are 25-year-old Bernard Adams of Fargo, ND, 38-year-old Danny Hill of Van Nuys, CA, and 33-year-old Michael Reyes of Bakersfield, CA. All three were taken to Portage County Jail.

As for the juvenile female, arrangements were made to return her to her family in California.
