Both of Indiana’s Senators voice support for Surgeon General candidate

Senators Joe Donnelly and Todd Young are endorsing an Indiana Doctor who was in confirmation hearings before the Senate this week, in an effort to become the next Surgeon General.

Senator Donnelly says he supports Dr. Jerome Adams because he knows he’ll make a difference with the new position in the fight against the opioid addiction.

Dr. Adams has been deeply involved in Indiana’s efforts against the opioid problem, and told the senate “There’s more importance of scientifically grounded evidence over political positions and popularity.”

No date has been set for his confirmation as of yet.
