GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) — A study has found that expanding the size of the RV Hall of Fame could bring many visitors to northern Indiana.
The Elkhart Truth reports that Johnson Consulting and Development Concepts Inc. presented the study to the Elkhart County Redevelopment Commission on Thursday. The study examined the impact of adding 60,000 square feet to the property as well as a 20,000-square-foot pavilion.
Johnson Consulting President Charlie Johnson says the expansion could bring in an additional $2 million in revenue and draw 250,000 people a year.
Hall of Fame President Darryl Searer says the expansion and pavilion are expected to cost up to $14 million.
The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association says several thousand people work at RV-related factories in Elkhart County, which produces over three-quarters of the country’s RVs.
