One dead, two hurt in two Friday morning train incidents

Friday morning was a bad on for trains on both sides of the State Line…

A crash involving a train and vehicle happened at the crossing at Madison Street between 9th and 10th streets, just one block northwest of Goshen High School.

Police say two people were taken to the hospital. Their names have not been released, and there are no details about any injuries.

Also, all train crossings in Cassopolis were closed for a while after a pedestrian was hit by a train in Cassopolis Friday morning, just after 5 a.m.

This happened at the East State Street crossing near Wolfe Avenue. The 63 year-old Cassopolis man was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
