Lake effect snow looming over Michiana

The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana is forecasting what could be the region’s first measurable snowfall of the season.

Lake effect snow of 1 to 3 inches is expected to fall between Wednesday and Friday, with the higher accumulations likely north of the state border.

Accumulating lake effect snow is expected Wednesday night into
Thursday. 1 to 3 inches is possible.

According to ABC 57 Meteorologist Tom Coomes:

Lake effect snow is likely to start Wednesday night and last through Thursday. Lake effect zones will see measurable snowfall of one inch or more, some could see up to three inches. The next focus for widespread snow will be Saturday.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, breezy, chance of lake effect snow, high of 34.

Thursday: Lake effect snow showers, high of 28.

Friday: Partly cloudy, highs in the upper 20s.
