(Ben Quiggle/Elkhart Truth)

The RV industry is doing well in northeast Indiana.

The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association is reporting a more than 17% annual jump in wholesale shipments, with the vast majority of them coming from Elkhart.

The organization says almost 505,000 RVs were shipped to buyers in 2017, compared to a little under 430,500 in 2016.

The final month of 2017 was the best December on record for the association, with towable RV shipments up almost 10% compared to December 2016.
