Snow returns to Michiana this week

Clouds will increase through the afternoon on Monday, March 5, with a messy system arriving late this evening.

It starts out as a wintry mix but as temperatures fall below freezing, it’ll turn to mainly wet snow.

Light accumulation and slick roads are possible Monday night and Tuesday morning.

As the center of the system approaches Michiana, we’ll see more wintry mix Tuesday and it turns to mainly light snow for Wednesday.

Temperatures fall into the low/middle 30s the second half of the week with another chance for snow Thursday.

Your ABC 57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Center Forecast:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny turning mostly cloudy with wintry mix late. High of 45.
  • Monday Night: Wintry mix turning snow, low of 30.
  • Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with snow in the early morning, then a wintry mix in the afternoon/evening. High of 40.
  • Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, light snow and windy, highs in the low 30s.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southwest
Michigan...northern Indiana and northwest Ohio.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

Rivers are expected to slowly recede this week.

Some light snow accumulations are possible at times throughout much
of this upcoming week. Roads may become slippery especially at night
and early in the morning during these times.
