Authorities say the Austin bombing suspect is dead

Austin, Texas authorities say the suspect they believe to be responsible for terrorizing residents over the past three weeks with a series of bombs left in packages is dead.

Police say the suspect, described as a 24 year-old white male, killed himself in his car by detonating an explosive device as police were closing in on him.

Austin residents are being urged to remain cautious if they receive an unexpected package, as authorities say they are not sure where the suspect has been in the past 24 hours. It’s possible that he may have sent out additional packages.
