A pontoon manufacturer in Elkhart is being acquired by one of the biggest names in motorized sports.

Polaris Industries announced on Wednesday that they will buy Boat Holdings LLC of Elkhart for $805 million. It’s the first toe in the water for Polaris in the boating industry, as the company is best-known for snowmobiles, ATV’s, jet skis and motorcycles.

The sale should be completed this fall.

Boat Holdings, the largest manufacturer of pontoon boats in the US, generated approximately $560 million in sales in 2017. They also offer deck and cruiser boats.
