A large spider, the size of a human hand with a larger leg-span, was discovered in Elkhart County this week.

Jacob Collins, an employee of Godfrey Marine, was building a boat when he discovered the arachnid. He told ABC 57 that he later learned it was a “fishing spider,” a large creature that is often found near water.

The shy creatures resemble wolf spiders and eat small fish and insects.

He snapped a few pictures and released it back into the wild.
