Five arrested after shooting in South Bend Thursday night

Five people have been arrested after a shooting in South Bend last night.

The shooting happened Thursday afternoon on South Carroll near East Donald. A 24-year-old woman was injured as a result.

South Bend Police brought in five men for questioning shortly before 8 p.m. that night that were believed to have been in a vehicle around the area of the shooting. All five were then charged with the following:

• Jermaine Newsome, 18- Attempted Murder, Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Handgun Without a License and Resisting Law Enforcement
• 16 year old Juvenile- Attempted Murder, Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a
Handgun Without a License and Resisting Law Enforcement
• Mario Gray, 21- Possession of a Handgun Without a License, Operator Never License and
Assisting a criminal
• Derrell Ewing, 18: Possession of a Handgun Without a License
• 16 year old Juvenile- Possession of a Handgun Without a License
