A woman suffered critical injuries after a head-on crash involving her car and a semi-truck near Claypool.

It happened at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday on State Road 15 north of C.R. 550 South. Deputies say a silver Toyota heading northbound was driving in the southbound lane and hit a Freightliner head-on.

The driver of the car, a 59-year-old woman from Warsaw, was rushed to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne in critical condition. Officers say she suffered “extensive extremity injuries”. The driver of the semi, a 47-year-old Lake Village man, was not hurt.
