Four men have now been officially charged after a shooting in South Bend last week.

The four are charged in a shooting that happened Thursday near Riley High School.

Court documents say at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jermaine and Jalon Newsome, both 18 and 17 respectively, were picked up by 21-year-old Mario Gray. The three spotted two men they believed were responsible for a shooting that injured Jalon Newsome in 2017.

Both Newsomes circled to Carroll Street and Jermaine allegedly fired his gun at one of the two people he thought he saw. Jalon also allegedly tried to shoot at them, but his gun malfunctioned.

A 24-year-old woman who was not a target of the Newsomes was hit and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Court documents also say the Newsomes also wanted to shoot up houses to get revenge for the shooting of Kumar Bishop, but were picked up by police later that night.

Jermaine Newsome is also facing charges in another shooting earlier this year.

Here’s how the charges break down:

Jermaine and Jalon Newsome, Mario Gray Jr., and Derrell Ewing won’t be missed. I hope they really enjoy their new home in PRISON. They are so young they will have lots of boyfriends once they are inside. They don’t need to worry about getting revenge anymore. Everyone they have associated with will eventually be in prison with them and they can all kill each other there. If they have any, their parents must be so proud!
