Three Michigan men were arrested on Thursday, Sep. 7, on counterfeiting and theft charges after using fake bills at five area Walmart stores.

On Thursday, the Warsaw Police Department received a report of counterfeit money used at the Warsaw Walmart.  Two suspects used approximately $1,100 in counterfeit $20 bills to make purchases, according to a WPD news release.

Walmart Loss Prevention staff informed officers the men were responsible for using counterfeit bills at additional Walmarts in Rochester, Plymouth, South Bend and Mishawaka.

Officers were notified Thursday by the Wabash Police Department that they had the counterfeit suspects detained at the Wabash Walmart.

Filmel Charles Williams Jr., 18, of Brownstown, Mich.; Titus Tyrerse Mundy, 19, of Inkster, Mich.; and Isaac Barnett Young, 19, of Novi, Mich., were taken from Wabash County and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail early Friday morning on charges of counterfeiting, level 6 felony, and theft, a misdemeanor.

Warsaw Police are requesting law enforcement agencies contact its Detective Division at 574-385-2211 if a business in its jurisdiction received counterfeit bills from the suspects.
