South Bend man arrested on cocaine, marijuana charges during toll road stop

A South Bend man has been arrested after an Indiana State Trooper found cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle during a stop on the toll road.

The traffic stop happened just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 12, in LaGrange County.

While speaking with the driver, Aries Jevon Alexander, the trooper smelled the odor of marijuana, according to the Indiana State Police.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 30 grams of suspected marijuana, about 5 grams of suspected cocaine, $200 cash, drug paraphernalia and a loaded .40 caliber handgun, state police stated.

Alexander was taken to the LaGrange County Jail on preliminary charges of dealing cocaine, dealing marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
