The schedule for the South Bend ReLeaf program has been announced as the city prepares to collect leaves from neighborhoods.
The program will officially begin on Monday, Oct. 29, and run through Tuesday, Nov. 27. However, the city will take early pickup requests, and has already began doing so.
Residents are reminded to not rake their leaves into the street, and have their piles ready by by 6 a.m. on their pickup date.
Leaf piles should not have sticks or any other debris. Burning of leaves is prohibited in the city and residents with any questions can call 3-1-1.
Leaf pick-up in the City of Mishawaka starts on Monday, Oct. 22. Residents are asked to begin raking leaves to their curbside, as well.
Leaves will be picked up each week the day before each resident’s regular trash pick-up day.
Leaves can always be bagged and put out with the weekly trash pick-up. Brush can be taken to the Mishawaka Recycling Center, 1105 East Fifth Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday for Mishawaka residents.
The leaf collection program will continue through Friday, Dec. 7.
