Local school districts focus on patrols in school zones after bus stop tragedy

Local school districts are taking a close look at driving in school zones after the tragedy near Rochester that killed three siblings at their bus stop.

On Wednesday, Oct. 31, police in Elkhart stepped up their patrols on Benham Avenue at the school zone in front of the Roosevelt Stemm Academy, according to WSBT.

Last week, stepped up patrols near Mary Daly Elementary on Nappanee Street saw 48 traffic stops in roughly 45 minutes, WSBT reported.
