Police step up security at UP Mall after armed robbery Friday morning

Police in Mishawaka are investigating an early morning Black Friday armed robbery at the University Park Mall. It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the popular Grape Road mall.

According to officials a black male held a shopper at gun point as he walked from the mall to his car, and stole the shopper’s items. The suspect then escaped the scene in a blue BMW. He was last seen headed south on State Road 23.

Officers stepped up their patrols at the mall to keep Black Friday shoppers safe and are asking anyone with information to contact the Mishawaka PD.
