Big backup on toll road due to police activity on Ironwood Road overpass

Traffic on the Indiana Toll Road came to a halt on Thursday, March 29, in South Bend and Mishawaka, due to police activity on the Ironwood Road overpass.

Officers were assisting a woman suffering personal issues.

Authorities also blocked Ironwood Road, ahead of the bridge, in both directions, causing big back ups on that road, as well.

The back up on the toll road stretched as long as five miles in both directions until the situation was resolved.
