Amazon submits plans to bring delivery center to South Bend

Amazon has announced that they’ve submitted their plans to bring a delivery center to South Bend.

The facility would be the company’s third Indiana Delivery Station, and would sit at the intersection of Adams and Mayflower Roads north of the airport.

On Monday, April 22, it was announced that the plans had been submitted to the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce.

But not everyone’s thrilled about the idea.

Some concerned residents have started a petition objecting to the online retail giant’s presence in the neighborhood, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Others say the move is good for the community.

No opening date has been confirmed and the Common Council says they have not heard from the company yet, and no requests about tax abatements or re-development funds have been made, ABC 57 reported.
