A building at 1915 Cassopolis St in Elkhart will soon be home to The Batcave, and more.

The world’s only comic book and superhero museum, The Hall of Heroes, has been housed in a barn in Elkhart since it opened more than a decade ago. Owner Allen Stewart says the collection has outgrown it’s current location, which features a facade that resembles the Hall Of Justice, and he has been looking for a new location for some time now.

A number of fundraising efforts, including the publishing of a comic book that told the story of the museum’s founding, have been underway as Stewart has attempted to keep the museum in Elkhart. There had been some interest from other cities in having him move the museum elsewhere.

The new location keeps The Hall of Heroes in town and puts him closer to the Toll Road, where he hopes to grow the museum’s status as a tourist attraction. Visitors from all over the world have been to the current site, and the new location will make the museum even more accessible.

Stewart hopes to have the new location open for business this fall.
