Cass County man gets 43 years for AK-47 shooting in Dowagiac

A man in Cass County who fired more than a dozen shots from an AK-47 assault rifle outside of a Dowagiac bar has received his sentence for 2nd degree murder.

Rolandis Russel was given 43 years in prison for the death of 42 year-old Fabian Wesaw.

Police say the victim was considered a bystander in the fight that resulted in the 13 shots being fired.

It happened on July 29th of 2018 outside the bar where Russell had been involved in a fight before fetching the rifle from his vehicle and spraying the crowd with shots.
