The West Michigan shoreline dealt with high waves and flooding on Wednesday, as winds drove waves 10′ tall and higher.
Heavy beach erosion was reported in the afternoon, along with beach and channel flooding along most of the lake shore.
South Haven’s entire beach all but disappeared into the surf at the peak of the waves, and huge waves washed over piers along the coast.
Congressman Fred Upton urged caution on Twitter:
Please keep safe. 10 to 15 foot waves are no joke. This is a serious matter and folks should stay out of harm’s way. https://t.co/U6so4hMqHw
