South Bend Community Schools respond to coronavirus declaration

The South Bend Community School Corporation released a statement Friday after Governor Holcomb declared a public health emergency related to Indiana’s first reported case of coronavirus.

Superintendent Dr. Todd Cummings said the safety and well-being of South Bend’s students is the corporation’s greatest priority. The schools have worked closely with the St. Joseph County Health Department to to ensure the recommended guidelines of the CDC are being followed.

Staff at the schools are taking every measure to ensure that the schools are sanitized as often as possible.
