Michigan reports more than 1700 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday; 78 additional deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human services reported 1,719 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday afternoon. That brings the state’s total of positive tests to 9,334.

Additionally, 78 more Michiganders have died of the virus. The new total is 337.

National health officials anticipate a surge in cases in the coming weeks.
