Dowagiac Police investigating drive-by shooting into homes

Dowagiac Police are investigating two separate drive-by shootings into homes that occurred within the city.

The first incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Dowagiac Police were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of James St.  Officers were advised that someone had driven by and shot several times into a residence there. Witnesses advised that several shots were fired at the residence by unknown vehicles from the street.  The residence was occupied by three people who were not injured.  No other descriptions or information is available at this time.

The second incident took place around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 14. Dowagiac Police were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Maple St.  At the time of the shooting there were four people inside of the residence and none were injured during this incident.  No other descriptions or information is available at this time.

Dowagiac Police believe that both incidents may be related and do not appear to be random acts.
