Kennedy Water Playground is opening for the remainder of the summer season.

The South Bend splash playground’s original opening was postponed due to the pandemic, as well as unforeseen mechanical issues.

With its opening, the playground has changed a few of its normal policies in order to adhere to ongoing CDC recommendations.

First, there is a limit on overall capacity to 50% in order to allow space for physical distancing.

The hours of operation have also changed, as the playground will close periodically throughout the day to allow for deep cleaning. Public hours will be in the form of two-hour sessions, with 30-minute shutdowns.

A playground evening session has also been added during the week, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Pool passes can be purchased in advance, online, by clicking here. Each pass is good for one session, scheduled for a specific day at a specific time.

For more information you can contact the Kennedy Water Playground at (574) 235-9407.
