Michigan’s biggest pro sports teams are jumping in to help the state prepare for what is expected to be the most unusual election in recent history.
All four of the major pro teams in Detroit have offered up their facilities, making the city the first in the nation with that offer of help.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says the Pistons will host in-person voting, and the Tigers will offer their stadium as a ballot drop-off site. The Red Wings will host training for poll workers and the Lions will play host to a ballot receiving board.
More than 6,000 election volunteers will be safely trained to prepare or the election.
