Increased traffic patrols planned for Labor Day Weekend

The St. Joseph County Traffic Safety Partnership will increase their saturation patrols over Labor Day Weekend.

Officers will be showing zero tolerance for anyone driving impaired and will be arresting drunk drivers on the spot, no excuses. Their efforts are being supported with funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

The ICJI says one person died every 50 minutes in a drunk-driving crash last year.
