A Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy rescued a dog that had fallen through the ice in a pond.

Deputy Taryn Shields responded to a call on White Temple Road in Penn Township on Wednesday. The Deputy went out onto the ice after spotting the dog struggling to stay above water, and though she fell through the ice as well she was able to get the dog to safety.

Both are doing fine.
