A Niles man has been sentenced to 46 months in the accidental shooting of a 9 year-old boy.

Demetrious Barnett, 23, will spend just under four years in prison with one year supervised release for the death of Tre-Von Barnett. He pleaded guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The child died after he was playing with a gun with other children at a home in South Bend in August of 2020.
