Indiana’s job fatality rate in 2019 was higher than the national rate.
That’s according to a new report released by the AFL-CIO, which states 146 Hoosiers were killed on the job in 2019, leading to a fatality rate of 4.7 per 100,000 workers.
The national on-the-job fatality rate stands at 3.5 per 100,000, after 5,333 people were killed on the job in 2019 and an estimated 95,000 died from occupational diseases.
On average, 275 U.S. workers die each day from hazardous working conditions.
The highest workplace fatality rates are in Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana and West Virginia.

Of course, the AFLCIO will try to blame Right-to-Work laws for this…
