Overnight shooting in South Bend leaves one shot

South Bend Police responded to a call of a shooting just after midnight in the 1900 block of Linden Avenue.

Officials say there was only one victim when police arrived.

The scene is no longer active. There is currently no word on details of the victim or why the shooting took place.

Just a suggestion. Many news organizations report a running tally of the number of shootings, and fatalities after each additional shooting. This gives the public a glimpse of the magnitude of the problem

We may not know the magnitude, but we can hazard a solid guess about the origin.
