The Michigan Supreme Court has denied a man’s attempt to withdraw his guilty plea to second degree murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend’s husband.

Jeremy Cuellar and Kemia Hassel were both convicted and sentenced in the 2018 murder of Tyrone Hassel III.

Cuellar pleaded guilty to second degree murder in 2019. He was sentenced to 65 to 90 years in prison.

This was Cuellar’s third attempt to withdraw the plea.
