Michigan public schools expected to offer a full week of in-person learning

Public schools in Michigan are expected to offer a full week of in-person learning this fall, according to the state government.

Bridge MI reports that schools that close classrooms could lose critical state funding unless they obtain a special waiver, and the waivers may be difficult to obtain.

School districts no longer have the “maximum flexibility” that was given to them last year to hold classes remotely, and educators are dealing with angry parents, tough decisions, and the fast-spreading Delta variant this year.

There are many questions about what to do if local or state health departments begin ordering schools to close again.
