There’s a new exhibit at the Elkhart County Historical Museum.

The new temporary exhibit is called Emma Molloy: In Her Own Words.

Molloy became the first female newspaper editor in Northern Indiana when the first edition of The Elkhart Observer was published back in 1872.

Museum Curator Patrick McGuire told ABC57 News that her story has largely gone unknown, but had a huge impact.

Molloy was also an early advocate for women’s rights. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
