Megan Baughman tapped to fill the at-large seat of the late Mary Olson on the Elkhart City Council.

The Elkhart native served for years on the boards of organizations such as the Women’s Care Center, the Community Foundation, Premier Arts and ETHOS Innovation Center.

This will be the first time she holds public office.

Olson passed away in late August after an illness. The Elkhart Truth reports she was a member of the Elkhart City Council for more than 20 years.

The council passed a resolution in her honor during this week’s meeting.
