An Elkhart woman accused of a deadly shooting faces up to 85 years in prison now that a judge is allowed a sentence enhancement.
Iman Gregory, 27, is charged with murder for the death of Ishmael Porter, 25, of Elkhart.
The Elkhart Truth reports it was back in 2019 when Porter was found critically hurt in the 300 block of Sherman Street. He died at the hospital.
Witnesses said Gregory pointed a handgun at Porter following an argument and shot him once. Porter fell to the ground and Gregory allegedly fired several more shots into his body. Gregory was charged with murder and was arrested several months later in Atlanta.
She’s set for trial in mid October.
