The largest solar farm in the country is being built in northern Indiana.
Ground was broken Thursday on the Mammoth North Project, a solar farm that will cover 13,000 acres in Starke and Pulaski Counties.
The farm is being built by Israel-based Doral Renewables LLC and is a partnership between the state of Indiana and Israel.
The solar farm will create 500 new jobs over the next three years, with 50 permanent jobs at the site.
The farm will provide 1.6 Gigawatts of power — enough energy to serve a quarter of a million homes.

Boy are they gonna be surprised when it snows…
I am a bit confused. What I have read is for maximum efficiency you need lots of Sun for a long time. Northern Indiana has much less Sun than say, the Southwest With snow on solar panels ( we get snow) you get zero power output.
Almost anything can be profitable if the government takes enough tax payer dollars to make it so.
They will have an immigrant brush the snow off for 30.00 an hour
Solar panels still work in winter weather, you guys: https://www.energy.gov/eere/articles/let-it-snow-how-solar-panels-can-thrive-winter-weather
