Bears in the Air program is landing at South Bend International Airport

The 10th annual Bears in the Air program is landing at South Bend International Airport with ten community leaders donating the first bears.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller, St. Joe County Commissioner Derek Dieter, South Bend Chocolate Company Owner Mark Tarner and several others will officially kick-off the annual program on Friday, Dec. 3.

The reception begins at 6 p.m. in the hangar just east of the airport terminal.

The event is open to anyone 21 years of age or older.

The $25 per person entry fee will provide a teddy bear to a child in an area hospital and assistance to the veterans at the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center.

Guests will enjoy a light buffet, cash bar, music and door prizes including airline tickets from American and United Airlines.
