A 52-year-old man is facing charges after he plowed into a Porter County police car and led officers on a high-speed chase, all while drunk.

Randall Cadieux apologized during his arrest early Sunday, but still treated everything like a joke.

Police say while Cadieux was on the jail’s body scanner, he punched the emergency stop button on it to prevent the body scan.

Cadieux is charged with resisting law enforcement, OWI, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving. Police say Cadieux drove into a police vehicle while the officer was handling a traffic stop. That officer came out with a neck injury in the crash.

Cadieux then led officers on a chase with speeds above 100 mph, refused to pull over and drove down the middle of the highway. He eventually stopped for a red light at Ind. 149, where he was arrested.

His blood alcohol concentration was found to be 0.305, four times the legal limit.
