State Senate Republicans in Michigan have passed a resolution urging energy independence.

They call for policies that will lead to energy independence for the US to help reduce costs.

WSJM reports that one of their suggestions is support for keeping the Line 5 Pipeline open, and calls on Governor Whitmer and Attorney General Dana Nessel to end their lawsuits that seek to shut the pipeline down.

There were also discussions in the State Senate on Wednesday about considering a suspension of the state’s gasoline tax.
