Police were called to a possible threatening situation at River Valley High School on Friday.

Chikaming Township police responded to the school shortly before 8 a.m. Friday for an unspecified situation. After interviewing the principal and vice principal, it was determined that there was no credible threat.

The department said it appreciated that students who saw something that concerned them stepped up to report it rather than ignore the situation, and said it showed genuine leadership and integrity on their part for saying something when they saw something.
